7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

THIS FIELD TRIP IS PENDING! PLEASE CHECK BACK SOON! We will plan on visiting the Bradshaw Mountains south of Prescott above 6000 feet. Tentatively, we will focus on the Kendall Camp area and then, time permitting, Aspen Creek. This ponderosa pine - oak woodland community is home to many butterfly species such as the Western Tiger Swallowtail, Red-spotted Purple, Weidemeyer’s Admiral, Arizona Sister, Silver-spotted Skipper, and several species of blues, dusted skippers, duskywings, and hairstreaks. Keep an eye out for these and their affiliated adult and larval host plants (chokecherry, locust, aspen, ceanothus, locoweed and others) which will be identified along the way. Please wear sturdy shoes and a hat, bring water, snacks and a sack lunch. A pair of close focusing binoculars will be handy too. Difficulty: Easy. The trials are in very good shape with only a slight grade. Limit 15 participants A donation of $5 per person to benefit CAzBA will be appreciated. Register and reserve your spot here: TBA
