East Clear Creek with Kurt Radamaker
location:
Saturday, July 12, 2014
6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
On Saturday July 12th, we will explore East Clear Creek above the Mongollon Rim. Because of the high elevation (8000 feet), this canyon is best visited between mid-April and mid-October. It can be reached by taking a 6 mile dirt road off of Hwy 87, about 9 miles north of Clint’s Well. We will park the car where the road crosses the creek, and explore East Clear Creek and one of its tributaries, for a long list of butterflies including Long Dash and Northern Crescent, key species for this area.
Please wear sturdy shoes and a hat, bring water, snacks and a sacklunch. A pair of close focusing binoculars will be handy too. Trip leader: Kurt Radamaker. Meeting place: Denny’s on Shea Blvd in Fountain Hills at 6:30 am.
We ask for a $5 donation per person.
